Show Review: Six Nights A Week, You Can Still See The Big Names In Vegas

by Sarah Jane Woodall

At some point in their careers, all the big names come through Vegas ? Cher, Aretha, Tom Jones? and of course, Sinatra. You can still catch some of these headliners if you happen to be in town on the right weekend… but what about those acts that, like Elvis, have already ?left the building?? It?s too late to see them, right?

Wrong! Six nights a week at Harrah?s, you can still experience the majesty of Elvis in his glory days… as well as witness the magic of Michael Jackson, the fireball that is Tina Turner, and the provocative teasing of Madonna ? all in the same room!

Legends in Concert at Harrah?s showcases a continually evolving lineup of the world?s finest celebrity impersonators, from Jerry Lee Lewis to Justin Timberlake ? and each act is spot-on. Not only do the performers uncannily physically resemble the icons they are paying tribute to… they also sound exactly like them: Legends is noteworthy for being an entirely live show, with no lip-syncing allowed! That Jerry Lee is actually playing the piano backwards, while singing AND maintaining a fabulous pompadour! It?s incredible.

The line-up chanes, so you’ll never know who you?ll see! Vegas mainstay Elvis Presley is included in all performances, but other cast members might include Bobby Darin, Ann-Margret, Garth Brooks, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Elton John, Diana Ross, the Four Tops… or any of countless others. It?s a true variety show in the finest Vegas tradition; there?s something for every taste. Performances generally include six different acts, each performing for around 10-15 minutes, with a final ensemble number that brings everyone out for a blowout finale.

The Legends are also backed by a full live band (something getting more rare in Vegas), with a troupe of sexy dancers in fabulous, over-the-top period costumes performing era-appropriate dance moves alongside the headliners. Huge screens to the left and the right of the stage flash images of the original performers, so you can compare and contrast… and see for yourself just how eerily accurate these impersonators are.

Every performance of Legends in Concert is a trip down memory lane… so head to the bar, get a frosty beverage, and sit back to enjoy the most diverse show on the Strip. You?ll never see this many fabulous entertainers under one roof anywhere else ? it?s the greatest deal in town!
